Watermelon Summer Festival
Gardener Fordson is back at it again! No one seems to have more success growing magical fruits than this man. After another successful season, Fordson has decided to reinvest his profits into a brand-new variety: Giant Watermelons. Since he always buys more seeds than he can handle, he has decided to sell the surplus to any adventurer interested in horticulture.
However, jealousy has stirred among local farmers, who hired a geneticist to clone these miraculous seeds. The experiment took a dark turn: they discovered they could replicate the magical properties by "planting" the seeds into various creatures throughout the world. The geneticist, whose mental health has since deteriorated, lost track of which monsters carry these Cloned Seeds. Therefore, any creature you face might drop one of these rarities.
Cultivation Mechanics
During the event, monsters will drop Nectar. Deliver your nectar to Buzz the Cat in any town to obtain official seeds or Chrono Weapons.
- Nectar: Obtained from monsters of a similar level to yours. Use it to buy seeds or to nourish your plants.
- Buzz's Seeds: These are official seeds that can be traded or sold to other players.
- Cloned Seeds: Dropped by monsters worldwide. They share the same properties but cannot be traded or dropped (Non-tradeable).
- The Growing Process: After planting a seed, a "Young Watermelon" will appear. You must feed it nectar quickly.
Note: There is no fixed amount of nectar; you must feed it until it fully grows. If you hit it too early or fail to feed it enough, it will wilt and disappear. - Time Limit: Magical watermelons are unstable. Once they ripen, you have a very short time to open them before they vanish.
| Seed Type | Fruit Variety | Harvest Method |
|---|---|---|
| Watermelon Seed | Low Quality, High Quality, or King. | Common Weapons / Magic |
| Large Watermelon Seed | Large or Emperor Watermelon. | Chrono Weapons ONLY |
Chrono Weapons (Souvenirs)
Large and Emperor type watermelons possess a magical rind that is immune to common steel and sorcery. Only the sound of Chrono Weapons (such as the Darbuka, Cithara, or Pipa) can resonate with their structure to open them.
Important: A coordinated effort from several people striking simultaneously is required before the watermelon fades away.
