Fall Harvest
Gardener Fordson is back at it again! No one seems to have more success at growing magical squash than this man. After yet another successful summer season, Fordson has decided to reinvest his earnings into a new strain of seeds. Since he is forever buying more seeds than he can handle, he has decided to sell his surplus to any adventurer who is interested in his horticultural pursuits.
However, jealous of Fordson's miraculous seeds, some of the local farmers have contracted the services of a geneticist who has been attempting to clone Fordson's seeds! Although they have only met with marginal success, it seems the key to cloning is in the incubation process. Viewed as an unholy and unnatural procedure by some, the geneticist found he could obtain similar magical properties by "planting" the seeds on various creatures throughout the world.
Being a bit touched in the head, the geneticist has since lost track of which monsters he used in his experiments. Even now, it is impossible to tell which mobs are carriers and which ones aren't. As a faithful employee of Gardener Fordson, Buzz the Cat will be in towns throughout Aden and Elmore. Give Buzz your Nectar and he will give you a magical Squash Seed or a Chrono Darbuka.
Cultivation Mechanics
During the event, monsters near your level will drop Nectar. Deliver your nectar to Buzz the Cat in any town to obtain official seeds or Chrono Weapons.
- Nectar: Obtained from defeated monsters of a similar level to yours. Use it to buy seeds or to nourish your plants.
- Squash Seeds: Official seeds purchased from Buzz that can be traded or sold to other players.
- Cloned Squash Seeds: Dropped by experimental creatures worldwide. They share the same properties but cannot be traded or dropped (Non-tradeable).
- The Growing Process: After planting a seed, a fledgling squash will appear. You must feed it nectar quickly.
Note: You must feed it enough nectar to make it grow. Hitting a squash before it has fully grown or failing to feed it enough will cause it to wilt and disappear. - Time Limit: Magical squash are unstable. Once they ripen, you have a very short time to open them before they vanish.
| Seed Type | Squash Variety | Harvest Method |
|---|---|---|
| Squash Seed | Low Quality, High Quality, or King Squash. | Common Weapons / Magic |
| Large Squash Seed | Large or Emperor Squash. | Chrono Weapons ONLY |
Chrono Weapons
Large and Emperor type squash possess a magical rind that cannot be pried open with a regular weapon. Chronicle souvenir weapons such as the Chrono Darbuka must be used.
Important: These large squash require a coordinated effort and the help of many people in order to break them before they disappear.
